Acquire knowledge for:analyze the complexity of the multicultural society identify the the educational-teaching needs of multicultural school settings. Acquire skills for: realise projects in intercultural education closely linked to the needs of reality in which we operate.

In the first part,the course offers elemen
ts of knowledge and reflection on the pedagogical debate on the following issues:immigration,multiculturalism and interculturalism,assimilation,integration and inclusion,ste
reotypes and prejudices,racism and anti-racism,identity,
racial conflicts and cultural conflicts.In the second part the attention will be given to strategies and tools that provides intercultural pedagogy for the hosting and the promoting of the academic success of students with no-Italian citizen
ship.In particular,through the analysis of"intercultural" edu
cational plans,the attention will be posted on the key the
mes of intercultural education:utilization of the similarities and differences, decentralization and flexibility of thought, citizenship and conflict management.
The course is caracterized by lectures and also inclusive of meetings with privileged witnesses.
The final exam will be oral and focus on all the bibliography for the exam. The vote will be out of thirty and examitazion is successfully passed with a minimun score of 18/30.

Knowledge and understanding of the concept of culture.Relationship between culture, belonging and identity construction.
Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of multiculturalism and interculturalism.
Knowledge and understanding of the elements for the development of an intercultural project in term of education.
