Overview
The course will provide the knowledge, methods and paths for acquiring a basic historical consciousness of Italian history and of the world, with particular attention to training and educational aspects. The course has as a priority the training objective to operate, so to say, a "reconciliation" between historical consciousness and new generations. The purpose of the course is to ensure the supply of basic tools and paths for any insights for the analysis of history as permanent and decisive form of educational process and memory and analysiss of this subject in history. A course designed to provide familiarity with the tools of history, with special attention to the sphere to teaching and Didactics of this particular scientific discipline.
Admission requirements
The requirements for attendance of the course are familiar of the essential facts and historical events of the 20th century and the willigness to readings and research of monographic individual assignable caracter during the course.
Course contents
The course will focus in particular on the history of Republican Italy, with particular reference to the crisis of the so-called "first Republic" and the long transition is achieved. After an introduction on the characters of the Republican political system, the courde will examine the dynamics of the crisis of the center-left, to go after the 1970s and 1980s. Particular attention will be given during the course, the 1990s and the causes of the crisis of the "first Republic" and referred to as the "endless transition".
Teaching methods
The module will be taught according to the following teaching methods: so-called frontal classes using multimedia technological devices; didactical visits in local museums and cultural institutes; workshops and group work to investigate the characteristics of the historical process; use film material concerning the analysed historical period.
Assessment methods
Leraning results will be assessed as following: Final oral examination. The examination interview will involve at least four or five questions aiming to assess the knowledge of the contents and topics studied during the module. Assessment of written assignments produced during the module to deepen the knowledge of specific topics. Assessment of presentation skills including specific subject-related language competence and historical narration abilities.
Learning outcomes
The expected learning results and the knowledge and understanding of the topics addressed will be evaluated in consideration of the following
Knowledge of historical research basics and methodologies.
Awareness of main knowledge areas in the history of 1800 and 1900.
Ability to self-assess one's competences and dialectic. educational skills.
Knowing how to manage different communication registers, specific to historical knowledge.
Lqaerning ability when working in a team for the creation of collective projects.
