Theoretical frameworks of the research in mathematics education. The theory of didactic situations and anthropological theory. Instrumental and semiotic approaches. The theory of semiotic mediation. Networking theories.
The use of digital and classical technologies in teaching and learning mathematics.
Approaches to proof in mathematics education.
Calculus at secondary school level: learning and teaching aspects and educational proposals.
Research on Algebra.
Italian research for innovation and educational projects: national standards, 'Matematica per il cittadino', 'M@t.abel', 'Scuola Valore'.
The course is divided into phases of: - lecture - critical analysis of texts and articles - individual or small group activities and collective discussion about the processes of problem solving and the educational features of the analysed activities. The lessons will take place remotely synchronously due to the COVID19 health situation.
The exam consists of a written part about the analysis of a student's text and an oral part about the course content. The two parts take place one after the other. The tests could be carried out in presence or at distance depending on the evolution of the COVID19 situation.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Knowledge of some theoretical frameworks of research in mathematics education. Knowledge of current mathematical stadards for secondary school.
Awareness of ways of teaching and of the roles that the teacher has to take.
Knowledge of epistemological questions related to difficulties in teaching and learning mathematics at secondary school.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Knowing how presenting and making connections critically what they have learned.
Ability to analyze and solve problematic situations.
Knowing how designing and articulating interactive learning tasks on simple subjects.
Identifing incomplete reasoning or with mistakes, possibly by correcting or supplementing them.
Working autonomously, also assuming responsibility for organizational and scientific issues.
Producing textual or multimedia learning objects.
Skills to expose and discuss topics of interest.
Skills to draw up a written report on educational and mathematical topics.
Knowing how choosing ways and means to deepen independently questions of mathematics education.
