Overview

Promote multidisciplinary education and training of healthcare workers on patient safety by providing and disseminating information on patient safety standards, risk and safety measures in place to reduce or prevent errors and harm, promoting best practices and their involvement, including the development of the skills needed to manage risks of adverse events and deliver the behavioural changes necessary to improve patient safety
Students should know:
- the main risks due to drugs use in therapy
- The healthcare-associated infections: Surveillance and control
-the principles and methodology of research in internal medicine applied to clinical questions in Nursing and Obstetric Sciences with special reference to the main problems in the management of patients
-importance of occupational risks, of the relevance of activities for their prevention, and of activities for health promotion in workplaces
for the determination of the nutritional adequacy of the diet and for the formulation of simple diets. He will also need to know the meaning of nutritional status and its main alterations.
