To know the bases of the Italian organization of health system.
To know the main laws for the health system in Italy
To know the health structures offering prevention, care and rehabilitation

Course contents

The Italian health systems befor and after the reforms
the National health System; The Health Public service corporations; Hospital organisations;Hospital discharge scheme; DRG; Prevention department. Health Politics (national and Regional);Health Management Activities evaluation.
Clinical governance definition; Clinical Governance history; Chambers model; Clinical governance instruments and objectives (Evidence Based Practice, Quality Assurance and System, Audit and evaluation, Risk management, Performance and Accountability, Health Technology Assessment).

Oral exams and Test with multiple choice questions and questions for short open answers

Learning outcomes

Knowledge and understanding. Through lectures, tutorials and work with small student groups, the student learns the main methods to organise health service with special reference to the role of the nursing. Also learns the basic application of health promotion and prevention.
Making judgments. Thanks to practical examples, the student is able to understand, critically discuss and express an opinion on the results obtained by processing critically concepts acquired.
Communication skills: the student acquires appropriate terminology to convey to patients and family members the concepts of disease prevention and equilibrated diet, and are able to supporting the topics with adequacy
Learning skills: the student who has learned the concepts and methodologies described above will be able to provide autonomously update in a training continues
