Overview

General educational goals:
1) to be aware of the contemporary topics, problems and methods of professional training in general and of training in a medical environment in particular;
2) To be able to analyze the educational needs of a professional team and/or environment;
3) to understand and to apply the foundations of didactics in a medical environment;
4) to lead students to create, to organize, to implement and to evaluate training programs in the medical environment (mainly in-coming courses and refreshment courses)

Admission requirements

A degree program in Nursery or Obstetrics and some professional experience are the background where to insert some upper-level knowledge and competencies, as the organization of training activities.

Course contents

1) Foundation of Didactics (Barbieri)
from the "program" to the "curriculum", traditional and alternative models of curriculum planning, the educational role of the portfolio
2) Training Methods in Adult Education (Barbieri)
types and steps of training programs, methods and evalutation, organization of a training program in medical environment
3) Educational Psychology (Cadamuro)
theoretical foundation of learning, the meta-cognition in a learning situation
4) Models of Training and Tutorship (Ferri)
methods of teaching in action, tutorship in adult education, problem solving, problem based learning, briefing and debriefing
5) Training in the Medical Organizations (Ruozi)
foundations of organization as the matrix of the professional behaviours; the regional and national system of ECM; processes of effective learning; group formative dossier for educational planning

Teaching methods

Class will be organized like a seminar, with students engaged in an interactive dialogue with teachers. Some group works will be organized. Foundations of Didactics will be delivered also by a propedeutical set of videolessons.

Assessment methods

Final exam is based about some differentiated tasks: Barbieri – Foundations of Didactics: written exam at the end of the lessons Barbieri – Training Methods of Adult Education: group work during the lessons and discussion at the end of the lessons Ruozi : group work during the lessons and discussion at the end of the lessons Cadamuro-Ferri: written exam at the end of the whole class If some grades are not sufficient, an oral exam could be organized. In the Esse3 system there will be the dates of the written exam Cadamuro-Ferri. The coordinator will supervise the exam filling an Excel file and monitoring the in-progress situation.

- To be able to evaluate the training programs in a medical environment
- To be able to organize an training activity in a medical environment
