Teachers
Overview
The Commercial law course aims at providing students a wide and in-depth look on the various subjects making up this branch of law. More specifically, it will focus on individual enterprises, the different types of companies, competition law, negotiable instruments, commercial contracts.
Admission requirements
Adequate knowledge of Fundamentals of Private Law.
A level of knowledge of the English language of at least B2 - Independent user (Understanding, Speaking, Writing) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is recommended.
Course contents
a) Definition of Entrepreneur; Different Entrepreneurs and their regulation;
b) Competition law;
c) Partnerships and Corporations; Cooperatives; listed Companies;
d) Negotiable instruments;
e) Commercial contracts.
Teaching methods
The course is offered on campus, but if necessary due to the evolution of the Covid-19 situation the lessons will be provided on line. Students will be promptly updated.
Assessment methods
Oral examination. The exam consists of at least three questions, which will concern the general issues indicated in the "Course Contents" section, to ascertain the correct understanding and sufficient knowledge of the concepts relating to the topics covered in the program. If the student demonstrates a sufficient level of knowledge, other questions will be made with reference to more specific profiles and with regard to the links between them. The exam usually lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. Exam evaluation criteria: completeness and correctness of the answers. The exams will take place in presence, compatibly with the evolution of the Covid-19 situation.
Learning outcomes
KNOWLEDGE AND CAPACITY OF UNDERSTANDING. Students will acquire a solid knowledge of the regulation of enterprises, companies, competition, negotiable instruments and commercial contracts. Will acquire the ability to critically evaluate the issues arising from commercial law.
CAPACITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING. Students will have the ability to apply the skills acquired in the interpretation of law and in the analysis of case law and of the scholars’ opinions.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS. Students will have the ability to argue - having regard to the rules of law, case law and the scholars' opinions - possible solutions to the problems brought to their attention.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS. Students will be able to express themselves in writing and orally on the issues arising from commercial law and on their solutions
LEARNING SKILLS. Students will learn a method of study and analysis of the issues arising from commercial law.
